The Kindness Diet
Experiencing kindness and acceptance is actually the best and most efficient place to start when making a change. When you can accept yourself the way you currently are (and feel that from others), your whole physiology and nervous system relax. This gives you the emotional and hormone profile that makes any change much easier. It’s basically the anti-stress formula. The opposite is also true.

Love Yourself, Get Help

Do you know the signs of Depression? Click the pic to find out what they are.

Do you love yourself? Enough to get help when you need it?

How about loving your family and the people that count on you enough to be your best? Hopefully you use ALL the help and tools that are available to you when times get tough. There are others that we need to love too. Those that we might not even know but, they love us enough to put their lives at risk to protect us. These people are our first responders – support them and honor their sacrifice, not just when they die but the price they and their families pay for looking after the rest of us.  We have barely started 2015 and are already reporting 4 suicides among our First Responder community members. It’s tragic that anybody should feel that taking their own lives is the only way to end their pain. We have to end the stigma and start the discussion.

Caring for Ourselves

How far do you have to get with your “tank of energy”?

How quickly would we burn out if we constantly had to push ourselves to the next destination without any fuel in our tanks?

Not caring for ourselves can affect us in so many negative ways. It can affect us physically, emotionally, and mentally. For example, if we don’t value our bodies, we will be more likely to get too busy, skip meals, sacrifice sleep, or ignore signals that our bodies are not functioning at their peak level. When we do this, we send the message that we believe what we are doing is more important than our own health and well-being. Unfortunately, our subconscious is more than willing to comply with this message and just go along with the status quo. In other words, it agrees with the belief that you as a person are less valuable than what you are doing or who you are doing it for. We need to refocus our intellect as well as our unconscious. Otherwise, we risk falling into the Pit of Burnout.
